General description of the collection: The Indian Wars miscellaneous collection consists primarily of an historical account and a newspaper interview with some random scraps and fragments on the Indian Wars. The historical account is by Bill Hoffman concerning a successful attack by cowboys on raiding Comanche Indians at Packsaddle Mountain, Texas (August 9, 1873). The newspaper interview was with Edward Sharpless, Jr., which summarizes the service of his father, Edward C. Sharpless, during the Indian Wars (1872-1877). This interview includes information on the father's winning of the Medal of Honor for service at Upper Washita, Texas (September 9-11, 1874).
